Course content
|
The course includes practical demonstrations and participation in aquatic exercises, focusing on the most common musculoskeletal disorders (post-traumatic and post-operative conditions, vertebrogenic disorders, and degenerative diseases of the weight-bearing joints of the lower limbs) as well as the specialized application of hydrokinesiotherapy (specifics regarding gynecology and obstetrics, pediatric and geriatric patients, and selected internal diseases). It also covers fitness training and aquatic exercises for healthy individuals (swimming technique improvement, aqua aerobics). Students are introduced to the rules for the safe movement of patients within an aquatic environment.

Learning outcomes
|
The student acquires practical skills and experience in hydrokinesiotherapytherapeutic exercise in an aquatic environment.
The student is capable of conducting individual and group aquatic therapeutic exercise (in a pool). They are familiar with the indications and contraindications for hydrokinesiotherapy.

Prerequisites
|
The student is a swimmeri.e., capable of swimming 200 m without apparent difficulty. This prerequisite is met by successfully completing the course KAS/PLF.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Seminar Work
Materials: equipment for pool-based instruction (swimwear, and optionally a swim cap, goggles, and a towel) Preparation: completion of preparatory work (2 seminar papers) and conducting two hydrokinesiotherapy sessions for selected diagnoses; defense of the session structure, as well as the benefits and risks of the chosen methods.
