Course content

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the historical aspects of population protection, not only in the Czech Republic but also in the broader context of the perception of the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance, security legislation, and the security system of the Czech Republic, defining relations between civil protection and defense. evacuation, emergency, and survival. Attention will also be paid to the issue of shelter and the implementation of collective protection of the population in connection with the plan to hide the village. Part of the course will be the issue of terrorism, which will be understood as a very significant global threat. In relation to terrorism, terrorism strategies will be specified, and current developments will be discussed. Attention will be paid to the issue of so-called CBRN terrorism with a focus on potential means of its implementation.
- Upon completion of the course the student is able to specify and describe the content and main functions of population protection, - The student is able to explain the principles of the "population protection strategy...", - The student is able to describe current terrorism and its causes.
Prerequisites
Accompanying completion of bachelor's degree courses is recommended, especially courses dealing with the protection of the population and toxicology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Oral exam, Written exam, Seminar Work

To complete the subject, activity during the seminar, and the elaboration of a seminar paper in the specified term is required, if its elaboration is required. The credit will be realized in the form of a test in the MOODLE system. When the required number of correct answers (80 %) is reached, the test will be evaluated as successful and according to the points achieved, a mark will be awarded, which will correspond to the mark at the exam. If the evaluation is below the limit of 80 %, an oral exam will be passed after prior agreement with the teacher.
