Course content
|
- Content and significance of traffic safety and traffic education, - Significance of traffic education for life and health, protection of property and the environment, - Safe crossing of roads and railway crossings under all circumstances, - Assistance in crossing (to elderly people, disabled persons and children), - Anticipating a dangerous traffic situation, - Group movement, - Meaning of light signals, - Behaviour under decreased visibility, - Knowledge of traffic rules, - Behaviour in case of a road accident, - Legislative framework of traffic education, - Children's traffic playgrounds, - Understanding traffic as a controlled system, - Negative effects of traffic on the environment and ways of protecting the environment, - General principles of prevention of road accidents.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to introduce and create conditions for further development of the students in the area of traffic education. Throughout the course the students become professionals in the education of children, adolescents and adults within teaching practice in various types of schools and school facilities or practical sessions in traffic playgrounds, or they can take various professional functions in public administration. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
- Upon completion of the course the student is knowledgeable about traffic and is capable of further development. - The student is able to, in a professional way, educate children, adolescents and adults within teaching practice in various types of schools and school facilities in the area of traffic education. - The student is able to, in a professional way, lead classes and practical sessions in traffic playgrounds for various types of schools.

Assessment methods and criteria

Written exam, Student performance
Regular attendance. Awarding credit is subject to a written test from the content of the course and successful completion of a practical session in a traffic playground.
