Course content
- Current security threats in the territory of the Czech Republic and their analysis, - Aspects of possible internal and external threats in the Czech Republic, - Security policy and crime prevention, - Roles of security forces, - Restoration of land, - Basic characteristics of nuclear facilities in the Czech Republic and in neighbouring countries, - Possible consequences of nuclear accidents, - Nuclear materials, their characteristics and handling, - Requirements for internal and external safety of nuclear facilities, - Serious industrial and nuclear accidents in the world.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce to the students the issue of security policy of the Czech Republic in terms of population protection. Throughout the course the students learn about the system and systematic relations within the issue. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
- Upon completion of the course the student has knowledge of and is able to explain the basic principles of security policy in the Czech Republic in terms of population protection, - The student is knowledgeable about system and systematic relations within the issue, - The student is able to describe and explain general causes of serious industrial and nuclear accidents in the world.
