Course content
Characteristics and classification of emergency situations and their stages. Impacts of emergency situations on humans, the society, the environment. System of prevention of emergency situations in the Czech Republic. System of involvement of various entities in emergency situations (state, citizen, entrepreneur). Tools for addressing emergency situations in Czech legislation, security councils, and emergency committees. The role of the state, regions, and municipalities in addressing emergency situations and crisis situations. Integrated Rescue Systems ? Fire Protection Units, Police of the Czech Republic, Medical Emergency. The roles of citizens in preparing for and addressing emergency situations. The role of business legal and natural entities in preparing for and addressing emergency situations. Crisis plan and emergency plan.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce to the students basic emergency situations, crisis situations, system for ensuring preparedness and ways of addressing these situations. The course also focuses on the impacts of emergency situations on humans, the society and the environment and on the involvement of various entities in addressing emergency situations (state, citizen, entrepreneur). The students also learn about the role of citizens in the systems of preparing for and addressing emergency situations, roles of business legal and natural entities in the system of preparing for and addressing emergency situations, the content of and method of processing a crisis plan and emergency plan. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
- The student is able to describe emergency situations, their course, possible causes and stages of addressing emergency situations - The student can characterize the involvement of various entities in addressing emergency situations - The student is able to explain the content of crisis and emergency plans and the principles of their processing

Mark, Oral exam, Written exam, Seminar Work

- Submission of a seminar paper on a given topic - Active participation in seminars, as a minimum once a month a short thorough presentation about a current issue - Oral and written examination from the content of the course
