Course content
Topics: 1. Introduction to the organization of the course. Basic terminology (introduction to adult education, gerontoandragogy, gerontology, gerontopedagogy/psychology). 2. Introduction to the specifics of the age period in terms of anatomy, physiology, psychology and sociology. Biology of ageing. 3. Current legislation in the field of leisure and care for adults and the elderly and its relevance for PA organisers. The system of care for the elderly in the Czech Republic and in selected European countries. Therapeutic approaches and their development. Psychomotorics. 4. Active lifestyle. Active ageing. Healthy lifestyle and its effects on slowing down the course of ageing, degenerative diseases. 5. Familiarity with the basic rules of PA for adults and seniors, taking into account their specifics - indications and contraindications for PA. 6. Physical activities in the most common diseases and illnesses in late adulthood and senior age (osteoporosis/osteoarthritis, coronary heart disease, dementia, Parkinson's disease, prevention of falls, weight problems, etc.). 7. Movement activities for the elderly (PA). 8. Feldenkrais method of working with the elderly population 9. Veronica Sherborn's techniques for people with dementia. 10. Therapeutic approaches - overview, suggestions. Other therapeutic techniques. 11. Therapy in an aquatic environment. 12. Comprehensive rehabilitation, spa care. 13. Implementation of student projects.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide basic information about the general foundations and background for working with the population of adults and especially older adults (seniors) in the field of physical activities; it introduces organizations and facilities dealing with leisure time, the most widespread physical activities. The student will gain an overview of the most common diseases of older age and their specificities in relation to physical activity. They will gain a practical understanding of therapeutic approaches to active lifestyles and PA for adults and seniors. Connections with psychomotorics concept.
The student has sufficient information and skills to design and manage physical activities for adults and seniors with respect to their health status. During the study, the student has acquired a repertoire of physical activities for adults and seniors, which he/she can work with and modify according to the needs of specific groups with certain physical limitations. All with the support of the concept of psychomotorics, psychomotor therapies.

1. Active participation, e-learning Moodle (e.g. replacing missed material with individual assignments) 2. Submission of project work - preparation on the assigned topic, selected practical presentation for the movement lesson for adults and seniors in class or online. Contact with students will be made by direct teaching in block group consultations according to the KS schedule for the academic year (7 hours). Supporting study materials are available to students in LMS Moodle (study guides, presentations, extension information and materials, assignments and information on project work, information resources). Students can use e-mail communication with the teacher and consultation hours (in person or using online platforms Teams, Skype, etc.) by agreement.
