Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to familiarize students with the issue of civil emergency preparedness and civil emergency planning in the context of the Czech Republic as well as within the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and the European Union. The focus will be put on the implementation of mutual synergies in the implementation of civil protection and civil defence. The course will also include basic information on crisis management with a focus on its management. The information presented will be related to current security threats and the current security situation. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student knows and is able to explain the issue of crisis management and various crisis situations. The student is knowledgeable about economic measures to deal with crisis situations. Based on the acquired knowledge the student is able to apply the procedures and measures in case of winter mountain survival.
Prerequisites
Accompanying undergraduate subjects, especially those dealing with public protection and national security policies, is recommended.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Student performance, Seminar Work

To complete the subject, active participation in seminars and preparation of a seminar paper by the deadline, if required, is required. Credit will be given in the form of a test with possible use of the MOODLE environment. If the required number of correct answers (80%) is achieved, the test will be evaluated as successful and credit will be awarded according to the amount of points achieved. If the required pass mark is not achieved, a partial examination will be carried out.
