Course content
|
1. Warm-up in school PE and sports training using less known exercises. 2. Application of circle training in selected sports disciplines and with respect to the target orientation. 3. Use of obstacle course in fitness training of young people. 4. Use of game forms in fitness training of young people - endurance. 5. Use of game forms in fitness training of young people - strength. 6. Use of game forms in fitness training of young people - speed. 7. Use of nonconventional games and sports in fitness training of young people. 8. Methodological aspects of development and maintenance of flexibility. 9. Use of sports tools in fitness training of young people. 10. Use of sports equipment in fitness training of young people. 11. Methodological aspects of workout in young people in elementary/secondary school. 12. Compensation of specific training load. 13. Selected aspects of frequent fitness exercises in school PE and sports training - emphasis on appropriate exercising technique. 14. Problem exercises in school PE and sports training of young people (with respect to the current level of training condition, age and developmental specifics). 15. Application of new trends in fitness training in the preparation of young people.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to deepen and apply the students' knowledge of the training process of youth aimed at fitness aspects. Practical application of the knowledge acquired in the courses included in the study plan of the study programme should help improve the quality of didactic capabilities and skills of a coach and of a physical education teacher. The course is directly related to the following courses: Pedagogy of sports training and Theory of sport. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
After successful completion of the course students will be able: a) to apply knowledge relevant to fitness training, b) to react creatively in different situations, to prepare and to realize fitness training unit for youth, c) to modify training load. By using of synthesis of theoretical knowledge from sport training field and from other relevant fields students will be able to indentify positives and negatives of training process and to consider its level from the point of view of methods and organization.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Seminar Work
Methodological presentation (use of adequate methods, forms, procedures of sports training) of a selected topic. Demonstration of professional knowledge in a discussion on a selected topic of fitness training. Submission of a seminar paper (5-7 pages).
