Course content
Emotional intelligence as a key to success within successful self-management: 1. Characteristics of emotional intelligence 2. Emotional intelligence skills (Identification of emotions Use of emotions Understanding of emotions Command of emotions) 3. Emotional intelligence and an individual (Self-respect and self-confidence, emotional competence) 4. Emotional intelligence in relation to other people (Development of communication skills - Assertive behaviour, active listening, understanding, body language, communication and communication process) 5. Emotional intelligence in the workplace (how to use EIQ in professional growth - EIQ skills in professional growth) The course has been prepared within the Project CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0138 "Education modularization in management and psychology at the University of Palacky in Olomouc via innovation and interconnection of economic and psychological study programmes".

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Projection (static, dynamic), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
  • Attendace - 24 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 36 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Exam - 15 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course provides knowledge on emotional intelligence, understanding of its meaning and importance in various aspects of human life, such as work, human relations and personality development, and it teaches students such skills and techniques thanks to which they can develop their own qualities
Ability of self-awareness - identification and understanding of own feelings (and those of others) Ability of self-management - control of own feelings through a deliberate choice of words and acts leading to a desired result Social and communication skills

Successful completion of Self-management I.
