Course content
Virtual teams (VT) characteristics, the reasons and significance of VT establishment. VT specifics, comparison to traditional teams. The requirements on personal characteristics and competencies of VT leaders. The methods of VT members selection. The specifics of VT leadership and management. The specifics of communication in a virtual environment and the principles of efficient communication, the lack of non-verbal communication in virtual environment. Group dynamics of VT and methods for its development. Efficient use of collaborative techniques in VT. Evaluation methods of VT members. Intercultural aspects of VT management. Virtual job market. Environments and interfaces suitable for virtual work. Pathological phenomena, addictions, workaholism, technophilia Time management in a virtual environment. Practical training of virtual team cooperation. The course was established within a project CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0138 "Modularization of Managerial and Psychological Education at Palacky University in Olomouc through Innovating and Linking Economic and Psychological Study Programs."

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to prepare the students for the work in virtual teams, which are established by the companies. These companies can be called networked enterprises, which means that they are able to use full potential of Web 2.0 technologies. After the course completion the student will be able to lead an intercultural/multicultural virtual team and to use collaboration software suitable for virtual cooperation. The next aim of the course is to prepare the students to seek opportunities how to be hired into an ad-hoc virtual team or how to create a virtual team for their own business purposes.

Prerequisites
The knowledge in Management and Human Resource management can be useful for better understanding of the course content, but is not essential. The student must be able to work with ICTs independently.
