Course content
- Police of the Czech Republic, tasks and structure - The profession of a police psychologist and the scope of his work - psychological services in a police organization - Psychological diagnostics at the Police of the Czech Republic - determination of personal competence, determination of other special requirements for the performance of service in specialized positions - Psychological Diagnostics of Management, Assessment Centre - Crisis intervention system at the Police of the Czech Republic - Peer support at the Czech Police - Psychological care for members of the security forces, Anonymous Crisis Relief Line - Assistance of police activities - cooperation of a psychologist with a police officer, victim, witness - Job satisfaction of police officers, specifics of the organization, stress and burden

Learning outcomes
The goal of the course Psychology in Police Practice is to introduce to students the real scope of work of a police psychologist, included in the structure of the Police of the Czech Republic. The individual areas of work will be presented - psychological diagnostics, psychological care and assistance in performing police activities. Theoretical background will be supplemented by practical experience.
After completing the course Psychology in Police Practice, the student will be familiar with the structure of the Police of the Czech Republic and the work of a police psychologist with regard to all types of activities within the organization - specific psychological diagnostics in human resources selection, psychological care for members of security forces and assistance in performing police activities.

Mark, Final Report

Elaborating a paper (translation of a current foreign study focused on police psychology) and passing an oral exam.
