Course content
The problem of ageing, basic problems of people with great age, psychological determinants of ageing, personality changes. Good, successful and meaningful oldness. Psychological and psychiatric aspects: theory, diagnostics, intervention. Interventional psychological and psychotherapeutic techniques usable in the practice of a psychologist. Specifics of research at a great age: methodology, implementation and interpretation. Work with the elderly person's family, support programs. Specifics of other helping professions and the integration of a psychologist in the team.

Learning outcomes
Introduce students to basic concepts and relationships in the field of gerontopsychology. To provide a student of psychology with an insight into the most important problems of an elderly person, which he will use in his psychological practice. These are mainly non-pharmacological approaches and interventions aimed at individuals with dementia, depression and other common diagnoses.

Written exam, Student performance

Written test. The student is able to work with scientific databases (mainly WoS and SCOPUS) and search for the latest information in the field. Lecture, active participation in discussions. Practising intervention techniques. Practising data collection for qualitative research.
