Questionnaire design: - Graphic design - the evaluation, - the quality of data Questionnaire design: - Proofreading, external expert assessments (colleagues, supervisors, owners of rights) - Pilot testing and error correction - Informed consent, cover letter, ethics Implementation of the questionnaire from A to Z - Schedule - Contacting of participants and institutions - Time estimates, using batteries and other practical experience Standardization of methods: - Creation of norm sample - Transfer of foreign methods, translation - Statistical methods for assessing reliability and validity Working with data: - Creation of a data set from collected raw data, coding systems - Export to and from programs (Excel, SPSS, statistics) - Practical examples

Learning outcomes
|
In this course students learn the principles and recommendations for the creation of questionnaires (including self-made questionnaires, the ways of questioning in relation to the target populations, they will see specific examples of using different types of questions and scales. The group discusses possibilities and limitations of the use of online surveying etc. The issue of transfering of foreign methods is also discussed. Other topis are as follows: combinations with standardized methods, batteries, development of norms, grafical design, ethics etc. This subject combine knowledge from psychometry, methodology and diagnostics as well.
Students will gain or intensify skills in creating a selfmade questionnaires, designing surveys. Furthermore, they become familiar with data processing. The key ability is the sense of gradual improvement and refinement of methods so it gain the maximum possible validity and reliability.

Prerequisites

This is an optional subject (category B). Students should have completed all the previously taught compulsory courses in the area of methodology.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Analysis of Activities ( Technical works)
The output of the subject for each of the students will be their own proposal of a questionnaire created on the basis of the recommendations presented, on the basis of the subsequent discussion at the seminar and also on the basis of study supports. The topic of the questionnaire is arbitrary, however it is recommended that it be related to the research plans for the bcmgr. A discussion of the questionnaire combined with a knowledge test will be part of the final exam. 100% participation in the subject, taught on 2/11/2024 - 9:00-12:15 Exam first dates 12/12/2024 and 9/1/2025; second and corrective 16.1.2025 More information: a) students will bring to the lectures (teaching block) 09/10/2021 dr. Any questionnaire below, which is downloadable on the Internet; preferably text format (not online); we will analyze these printed questionnaires in terms of form and content; dr. Dolejš chooses the questionnaires from the students during block teaching (it is part of the recognition of the subject) b) creation of own test/questionnaire min. about 20 questions (different types) - paper version (questionnaire containing all relevant information, elements and requirements: introductory word, different types of items, graphic processing, etc.); send the questionnaire before the exam to Dr. Dolejše - martin.dolejs@upol.cz; c) Exam - oral debate on the created questionnaire - bring 2x printed copies of the created questionnaire; answering 2 professional questions from the lectured theory; d) editing of the questionnaire by the student - subsequent sending of the questionnaire to the e-mail address of dr. Dolejš martin.dolejs@upol.cz; therefore, the student will send the questionnaire twice: a) before the exam and b) modified after the consultation/exam (no later than 14 days after the exam, otherwise the subject will not be recognized).
