Course content
1) Form and aims of education 2) Educational system in our country, terms of educational psychology and educational sciences 3) Education myths 4) Different approaches to learning - reflection of associanism, behaviorism and neo-behaviorism in Czech education, incl. approaches to motivation (rewards, punishments, praise, self-determination theory, etc.) 5) Cognitivism and constructivism in education 6) Brain compatible education & humanistic view of education 7) "Alternative schools / approaches" (Montessori, Waldorf, to Unschooling and Home Education) 8) Current trends in education and new technologies (digital education, digital literacy, etc.) 9) Education systems in other countries

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
  • Homework for Teaching - 36 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Exam - 25 hours per semester
  • Attendace - 39 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce the students to the field of educational psychology, its terminology and methodology. The focus will be on basic principles of learning and teaching, motivation and social factors, and various theories of learning & teaching will be introduced.
Understanding the concept of learning in a broader sense, as a significant and for mental health important phenomenon Knowing the basic terms used in education, in order to participate in the discussions among teachers and other experts on issues of education Knowing and being able to apply basic knowledge of the educational psychology in the education counselling
Prerequisites
Knowledge from cognitive psychology.
