Course content
Classes take place at the Department of Psychology FF UP, Vodární 6, uč 213 Teaching consists of 2 blocks: I. Block - Explanation of the requirements for the examination - Introduction of the desired structure of the research proposal - Bibliography and references to methodological resources II. Block - Exam preparation I - Presentation of doctoral research projects - Methodological analysis of these proposals - Personalized references to the methodological resources

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Projection (static, dynamic)
  • Preparation for the Exam - 80 hours per semester
  • Attendace - 20 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 100 hours per semester
  • Semestral Work - 50 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to improve the student's ability to present their own research project (research proposal) containing theoretical background, research objectives, the methodology used, the decision on the population and sampling methods, data collection methods, analysis methods, and other specifics. The operational objective is to develop the ability of critical assessment of other published research studies. This course is also focused on the most common methodological problems and ways to solve them.
The graduate obtains these competencies. He/she: - is able to cherche the literature acording to the topic of his/her disertation - can evaluate published research papers - is familiar with the methodological literature and research standards - knows the recommended structure and required content of research proposal - Can develop a research proposal according to the theme of his/her dissertation
Prerequisites
Students must be enrolled in a doctoral program in the social sciences (humanities).

Oral exam, Seminar Work

Requirements for successful completion of the course: 1) participate 2) Creation of an individual research proposal (about 3-5 A4 pages) containing the rationale, background, research objectives, methodology used, the decision on the population and sample, data collection methods, analysis methods and other specifics.
