Course content
|
Explanation of good practices. Course schedule: 1st week) Different types of resources - literature, secondary literature, electronic resources, tools; 2nd week) Standard non-Dutch aids (books, manuals, websites, databases, virtual libraries, etc.); 3rd week) Use of these resources; Week 4 - 5) What is and is not plagiarism? Examples of citations, experimental texts of students; Weeks 6 to 10) Meeting tasks in libraries and presentation of student results, evaluation by the teacher; Weeks 11 - 13) Students' essays based on selected topics and their evaluation.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to provide students with instructions for correct writing of the bachelor thesis: familiarization with literary sources (primary and secondary literature, corpus creation, work with databases and virtual resources, as well as use of scientific libraries), structure and format of the thesis, adequate language style. During the course, students receive tasks related to work with resources - searching for specific titles and scientific articles, searching for inaccurately cited literature, searching for literature / resources on certain topics. Based on the results, the evaluation and discussion in the classroom takes place. Furthermore, requirements for thesis defense and the state final (bachelor) exam are discussed.

Prerequisites
|
Language skills of Dutch at the level A1 to A2 CEFR. Performing of homework and presentations.

Active participation in classes, homework assignments and submission of the seminar paper (essay).
