Course content
During the course, the way of the sentence structure of Dutch sentences from Flemish and Dutch viewpoints (with the differences of the determination against the Czech custom), the predicate, the subject, the objects (the object in the accusative, the object in the dative, the prepositional object), the objects that are specific to the Dutch grammar (oorzakelijk voorwerp, specifiek complement), proverbial determination, so-called quality determination (bepaling van gesteldheid). Students have to study selected chapters from W. Vandeweghe's book Grammatica van de Nederlandse zin (Inleiding + Deel 1) and answer questions on the texts as part of their homework. The theoretical explanation is supplemented by texts and exercises from the textbook Nederlands naar Perfectie (lesson 1-3).

Learning outcomes
The course is focused on the syntax of Dutch and its specifics, especially on the system of parts of the sentence compared to Czech and the differences between Dutch and Flemish variants. Students will broaden their knowledge of linguistic terminology and deepen their practical knowledge of Dutch.

Prerequisites
Knowledge of Dutch at B2 CEFR level and basic knowledge of Dutch grammar at bachelor level.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Written exam

Active participation in classes, home preparation and submission of written assignments in Moodle, final test (min. 60 %).
