Course content
1. Consecutive interpreting I ? consecutive interpreting practical training on the basis of the authentic texts of different topics (news, politics, culture, industry, commerce, health care, etc.). 2. Consecutive interpreting II ? practical training in consecutive interpretation based on the authentic texts of different topics (news, politics, culture, industry, commerce, health care, etc.). 3. Consecutive interpreting III ? practical training in consecutive interpretation based on the authentic texts of different topics (news, politics, culture, industry, commerce, health care, etc.). 4. Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Demonstration, Projection (static, dynamic), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
During the course, students will practice working with professional spoken texts. Emphasis is placed on promptness and continuity of interpretation, the enlarging of vocabulary on thematic lines, the practicing of taking notes and using the corresponding interpretation strategies.
Quick, convincing and sophisticated expression of the translation from source to target language, mastering work with interpreting equipment, recording of own interpreting performance.
Prerequisites
Language skills at least at CNaVT PMT-level.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Systematic Observation of Student

1. Attendance and cooperation in the lessons 2. Oral presentation of an appropriate text/speech in Dutch and Czech which can be used for consecutive interpreting 3. Interpreting at the end of the semester (exam) 4. Regular audio-visual recording of their own interpreting performance and analysis of their own records
