Course content
In lectures and seminars students get gradually familiar with basic orthographical and grammar rules of the Dutch language, using the textbook Grammaticale en lexicale oefeningen van het Nederlands voor vertalers en tolken I. During the summer semester a special attention is paid to creating past tenses of Dutch (ir)regular verbs, the usage of articles, adjectives and the most frequent prepositions. Moreover the basic principles of negation, the usege of infinitives or word order in the subordinate clauses in the present and past tenses is being exercised.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to make students familiar with the basics of the grammar system of the Dutch language and acquire basic vocabulary of Dutch. Main emphasis is put not only on the theory, but also on the practical mastering of basic grammatical rules of Dutch (lectures and seminars). The exercises focus on acquiring active knowledge of the Dutch language, building basic vocabulary and applying the basic grammar rules in practice. The aim of the course is the language level A2 - CEFR.
Students get familiar with basic orthographic and grammar rules in order to be able to understand simple texts in Dutch and to make simple sentences. The student gradually acquires the basic vocabulary of the Netherlands, his acquired language level corresponds to A2 - CEFR.
Prerequisites
Passing the course Dutch Grammar 1 in the winter semester. The knowledge of Dutch at A1 - CEFR level, the basic knowledge of grammatical categories on a secondary school level, as well as the knowledge of an another Germanic language (English / German) is expected.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Didactic Test

Carrying out homework tasks and other assignments systematically, being active during the seminars, taking interim tests, passing the final written test minimally with 60 % result.
