Course content
|
In the first weeks we will focus on basic phonetic features, syllabication and some important concepts. The following period is mainly devoted to the correct practice of individual phonemes.

Learning outcomes
|
In this lecture, students will be introduced to the professional terminology of contemporary Dutch in the field of phonetics. In addition, students focus on practice of Dutch phonemes. The exercises focus on the correct production of phonemes and on correct pronunciation according to the standards of written Dutch.
After completing the one-semester course, the student will gain a basic overview of the vowels and consonants of the Dutch language and learn their correct pronunciation. In addition, the student will have a basic knowledge of important phonetic concepts.
