Learning outcomes
|
The objective of the course is to familiarize students with fundamental qualitative research approaches used in media analysisspecifically, the analysis of media content and media audiences. Emphasis is placed on acquiring foundational knowledge of qualitative methodologies employed in media studies and developing the ability to apply them practically. Consequently, a central component of the course involves conducting a research project utilizing the analytical approaches introduced during the semester.
Upon completing the course, students will be able to: - Demonstrate familiarity with fundamental qualitative research approaches applied within the field of media studies - Apply qualitative research methods to the analysis of media content as well as audience behavior and reception - Design and conduct an independent research project focused on a selected media phenomenon - Interpret qualitative data and draw scholarly conclusions from their findings
