Course content
1. Introductory session, overview of the course syllabus 2. ČTK and other news agencies, basic overview of major agencies and the principles of agency news reporting 3. How the editorial system works 4. Possibilities for using AI in agency news reporting 5. Social media, podcasts 6. Speed, accuracy, reliabilityhow to write a news agency report 7. Types of news agency reports 8. ČTK Infobankahow to work with it effectively, how to use the events database and the documentation database 9. Working with sourcesverification, basic sources of information, fact Checking 10. National and regional news coveragehow they differ, practical experiences of editors at the ČTK Olomouc branch 11. International News Coverage - The Changing Role of the International Correspondent, Experiences from News Agency and Television Practice, Working with International News Agencies and Other Sources 12. Practical Production 13. Closing Discussion, Evaluation

Learning outcomes
The workshop will be led by the deputy editor-in-chief and the deputy chief editor of ČTK. It will focus on a practical introduction to news agency journalism, with a special emphasis on the national news agency ČTK. Participants will practice writing various news genres typical of news agencies and learn what it's like to write for an agency. Emphasis will also be placed on working with sources and verifying them.
The student has an excellent understanding of the nature and types of news agency reporting. The student is able to produce news agency reports.
Prerequisites
The student knows the basics of journalism.
