Titles and headlines in newspapers. 08. ? 12.- Presentations on the topic of politics, history, culture, economics, sport etc. 13. Credit session.

Learning outcomes
|
This optional seminar presents the students with current situation in modern Ukrainian mass-media ? i.e. the public TV and its programmes, internet and newspapers. We shall work with political, economic and entertaining TV programmes, articles from Ukrainian journals about politics, culture and public life. Students broaden their vocabulary and knowledge of cultural, social, political and economic realia of present-day Ukraine.
An ability to listen with comprehension, knowledge of topical news from mass media, comparison of Slavonic languages by way of listening, an ability to reproduce audio-texts.

Prerequisites
|
Basic or lower intermediate knowledge of Ukrainian language (A1 ?B2).

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Written exam
Preparedness of each lesson, short presentation, submitting the in-class assigned tasks, in-class presentation, final presentation.
