|
1. Socio-linguistic aspects of language in the cultural life of Ukraine and Czech Republic from the diachronic and synchronic point of view. 2. Images of world from the linguistic point of view. The language perception in Ukraine and Czech Republic. 3. Linguistic features of e-communication. The verbal and non-verbal communicative elements. 4. The problem of urbanization. Model and methodology of urbano-linguistic research in Ukraine. 5. Socio-linguistic characterisation of the adaptation of neologisms in present-day Ukrainian in the context of migration situation in Europe and in the world. 6. Ukrainian cultural centres in Czech Republic and in the world. Prominent scientific centres in Ukraine. 7. Socio-cultural and linguistic aspects of communication among national minorities in Ukraine. 8. Bilinguism in Ukraine and the problem of present-day language planning. The concept of interference. 9. Socio-linguistic basis for language codification. The theory of language standard. 10. Special terminology reflecting the development of modern technologies. 11. Comparative linguistic approach in international communication in the environmental sphere. 12. The problematic of transformation the linguocultural realia into another language territory as a part of language teaching. Ukrainian as a second language. 13. Credit test.

Learning outcomes
|
In this course student shall activate and broaden their knowledge gained during the conversation courses. We shall broaden the topics and vocabulary, especially from the sphere of culture and science. The vocabulary is also analyzed from the point of view of etymology: we shall deal with original Ukrainian lexicon, borrowed words and internationalisms. Special attention is paid to the stylistic connotations of words and their function. The main aim of this course is to develop the ability to speak fluently and correctly in Ukrainian.
Students will broaden their vocabulary from the sphere of science, culture and mentality. The level of language shall reach the C1 or C2 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Prerequisites
|
An advanced knowledge of Ukrainian, the lexicon and grammar on the level of Bc., i.e. the B2 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Written exam
* Active participation (discussion ,presentation, reading), max. 2 absences * Passing the credit test
