Course content

1. Topic: Crime - dominant vocabulary, introductory text. 2. Exercise with vocabulary - links, sample sentences, automation, consecutive, interpretation of the data sheet. 3. Training works with text - automated texts (short message). Consecutive. 4. Consecutive interpreting. Condensation of the text, interpretation and transformation of the sheet. 5. Consecutive and simultaneous interpreting ? judicial system, the known and the actual text. 6. Topic: doctor's visit - the current text , vocabulary and dominants. 7. Topic: attorney/accused dialogue ? Automation turnovers, interpretation of the data sheet, consecutive interpreting. 8. Consecutive and simultaneous interpreting - related topics, current texts, interpreting from Czech into Ukrainian. 9. Topic: The Judiciary - presentation material and lexical pages, short text. 10. Practising vocabulary - automation, precision of expression, work with text. 11. Consecutive and simultaneous interpreting - the judiciary, work with text (compression , forecasting, interpreting from Czech into Ukrainian). 12. Topic Summary: Judiciary system, medicine, community areas - known as the current texts. 13. Credit test.

Learning outcomes
|
Interpreting course is designed for beginners with knowledge of Ukrainian at level B2. The aim is to learn the basic techniques and skills required for interpreting while improving language competence of students through initial interpretation practice adapted from simple texts and recordings in interpreting popular - scientific and professional discourses (including preparation, evaluation and feedback). On the basis of previously acquired foundations of interpreting work (accompanying, consecutive interpreting), the skills of working with text are consolidated and extended, its interpretation and stylization in terms of a specific topic. Students start with the accompanying interpretation, followed by consecutive interpreting, with the basics of simultaneous interpreting. It puts emphasis on conscious preparation, processing and mastering standardized expression and orientation in the text. The aim is not only linguistic mastery of the topic, but also the consolidation and practising of general interpretation skills and techniques.
Students will acquire the ability to use general language skills with a Ukrainian / Czech text in the accompanying, consecutive, partly simultaneous interpretation on various specialized topics (medicine, justice, community area)

Prerequisites

It is assumed advanced practical knowledge of Ukrainian (B2 according to the Common European Framework) level tests for professional bachelor study at Czech universities Ukrainian.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Written exam
* Participation in seminars with the maximum number of absences per semester 2 weeks * Guest entries (up to 3 -) * Successful execution of the credit records * Annotated Ukrainian-Czech translation (about A4) on a topic or theme presentation in class
