The aim of the course is to activate the student?s linguistic knowledge and to provide it with stylistic context. Special attention is paid to comparison of stylistic aspects in Czech and Ukrainian, both on the general level and in the main sub-systems and styles. From the functional styles we shall deal with administrative style, scientific style, journalistic style and colloquial style, from which the scientific and administrative styles are most important for us in this course. We shall support the discussed material with texts to be compared.
