The Baroque in Ukraine in the 17th and 18th centuries. 11. Specific features of Ukrainian culture in the 19th century. 12. Phases of development of the Ukrainian culture in the 20th century and the new tendencies in the 21st century. 13. Colloquium.

Learning outcomes
|
The course describes the origin and development of Ukrainian culture in a global context cultures from ancient times to the present day. Emphasis is placed on the peculiarities of Ukrainian traditional culture, especially folk themes in literature, painting, music and other areas. The plan follows the merger of Cultural and language development.
Students will get familiar with the culture development and etnogenesis of Ukraine in the context of European and world culture.

Prerequisites
|
Knowledge of history and realia of Ukraine (from the course on history of the Eastern Slavic countries and from Conversation exercises).

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Dialog, Seminar Work
Attendance, max. 2 absences. Each student will submit a presentation on a given topic selected from the syllabus. The knowledge of the outline of culture will be examined in the final written test - colloquium, which will cover the period from the origin of Ukrainian culture up to the present day. The colloquium can only be retaken 2 times (there are 3 attempts altogether).
