Learning outcomes
|
This course will present and discuss Ukrainian prose and poetry, written since 1991, by analysing and interpretating the most important texts of contemporary Ukrainian literature. It will focus on main tendencies and understanding their importance in the context of not only Ukrainian, but central European and world literature, too. This course includes assigned reading of Czech translations (or original Ukrainian pieces, if interested).
Students will gain knowledge of the state of contemporary Ukrainian literature (prose and poetry), they will be oriented in its main tendencies and will be able to place Ukrainian literature into the context of (central) European and world literature. They will improve in analysing and interpretating (postmodern) literary text.

Prerequisites

Interest in literature and orientation in world literature of the 20th century is expected.
