Equivalence and adequateness in translation. 9. Lexicon with no equilavents in other languages. 10. Peculiarities of translating texts for special purposes, translating terminology. 11. Learning outcomes
|
Stylistics The objective of the discipline is to present the truly interdisciplinary position of modern stylistics among linguistic disciplines. Emphasis is made on the meaning of stylistic system, stylistic and functional differentiation of national language (language and cultural circumstances of the given language community). The following partial topics are covered: contemporary situation and stylistic tendencies in modern Czech and Russian, functional concept of stylistics, national language - its differentiation, issues of equivalence and lack of equivalents between languages, colloquial Russian and Czech. The discipline is taught as a lecture and the follow-up disussion with students´ presentation of papers. Translatology In the lecture and seminars, the students will become familiar with selected issues of contemporary lingusitic science of translation (interdisciplinary field - linguistics, literary scholarship). Descriptive translatology and partial issues of applied translatology (translation of fiction, translation of texts for special purposes) are presented. Special attention is paid to the issues of equivalence and adequateness of translation.
Detailed knowledge of Russian and general stylistics (applied into Russian-Czech and Czec-Russian material). Knowledge of translatology. Familiarity with notions, translation methods, procedures and shifts, schools of translation and famous representatives.

Prerequisites
|
Knowledge of Russian language corresponding at least to C1 level. In case of foreign students, corresponding knowledge of Czech language. Knowledge of general linguistics as well as partial linguistic disciplines corresponding to the level of Mgr. study od Russian philology at Czech university. General knowledge of the issues in humanities and social sciences.
