This course offers an introduction to the syntax of Russian language and is a continuation to the Language Grammar Exercises 1 and 2 and Morphology 1. The course is dedicated mostly to a practical dealing with selected phenomena in Russian syntax, understanding of which is a necessary step for theoretical study of syntax. We shall apply mostly the functional approach to language and confront Russian and Czech syntactical systems in order do avoid interference. The discussed phenomena are practised so that students can automatize the knowledge. Special attention is also paid to the adequacy of translation of the Russian syntactical phenomena which do not have an exact equivalent in Czech.
