Learning outcomes
|
The course of contemporary Russian theatre and drama focuses on selected plays by the most prominent figures of the new wave of Russian drama since the end of the 1990?s and their Russian and Czech staging. We shall also discuss selected classical Russian plays from the beginning of the 20th century and their current inscenations. The aim of the seminar is to present the students with a deeper understanding of the contemporary Russian drama, the staging and its inspiration from the classical drama.
Students will get familiar with the tendencies of development in Russian drama since the end of the 20th century and with the prominent figures of contemporary dramatic production.

Prerequisites
|
A practical knowledge of Russian, at least B2 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages, knowledge of Russian history, culture, literature and realia as expected after completing the compulsory courses in Bc. study programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam, Essay
Attendance, max. 2 absences. Presentation. Reading the assigned plays, active participation in discussion.
