Course content
|
The aim of the course is to give to students knowledge about Russian idioms, about basic theory, terms and development of idioms. The attention will be paid to sources of idioms: history, Bible, antic legends, origin and foreign idioms in Russian, mainly the idioms borrowed from European languages.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the subject is to provide students with basic knowledge of the Russian phraseology: categorical components of a phraseologism, the margin of phraseology, the methods for translating phraseologisms. Phrasemes are discussed in thematic groups: knowledge - ignorance, much - little, fast - slowly, birth - death etc. The focus is drawn on the importance of extralinguistic factors for the formation of phraseologisms. The attention is drawn also to the origin of phraseologisms: the Russian fairy-tales, legends, history, phrasemes connected to the Bible, antique mythology, expressions borrowed from other languages.
The students will be acquainted to the basic theory of Russian phraseology and methods of their translation into Czech.

Prerequisites
|
Knowledge of Russian, corresponding to B2 standard of the Common European Frame of Reference for Languages. The course is intended for higher years students.

Oral exam, Written exam
- attendance at the courses (max limit of absence 2 teaching units) - writing home assignments - credit test - knowledge of the theory of phraseology
