Learning outcomes
This practical course is focused on English language used in everyday working environment and in business (e.g. facts about a company, employment, trends, finance). Students will be presented with the basis of business correspondence in English (phrases, structure, basic genres). We shall work with an advanced knowledge of English. In terms of grammar we shall only focus on selected issues such as the passive voice, phrasal verbs and derivation.
After completing this course the students will be able to express themselves correctly in English in written business dealings in basic genres. They will be able to communicate in English both in production and reception of the text(understanding both spoken and written speech) on the topic of describing a company, profession or trends in economy.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of English on the level of B1 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages, both practical and grammatical.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written exam

Conditions for the credit: - Attendance, max. 2 absences - Passing the tests on vocabulary, phrases and translation - Individual tasks: composing business letters - Oral presentation in English in class - Passing the credit test Conditions for passing the examination: - Passing the written part of the exam (topics from KSR/7ANG3 + ANG4 and business correspondence) - Passing the oral part (dealing with a text in English)
