Learning outcomes
|
This practical course is focused on English language used in everyday working environment and in business (e.g., company description, employment, trends, finance). Students will be presented with the basis of business correspondence in English (phrases, structure, e-mail). We shall work with an advanced knowledge of English. In grammar, only selected issues, such as passive voice, phrasal verbs and derivation, will be dealt with.
After completing this course, the students will be able to express themselves correctly in English in written business communication. They will be familiar with the topics of company description, business trends and employment both in reading, speaking and listening.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of English corresponding to B1 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Oral exam, Written exam
Conditions for the credit: - Attendance, max. 2 absences - Passing the tests on vocabulary, phrases and translation - Individual assignments: composing business letters - Oral presentation in English in class Conditions for passing the exam: - Passing the written part of the exam - Passing the oral part
