Course content

KSO/95DZK2 KSO/9DOZ2 Presentation and defence of relevant parts of the thesis. Discussion on scientific issues and how to work them out. Five questions concerning the topics treated in the thesis. Partial doctoral state exam + Dissetation defence after the 2nd year. 30 credits. Czech, Polish, Ukrainian and Russian philology. 1. Definition of the research topic 2. Definition of methodology 3. Planning the paper's structure 4. Preparation of individual parts of the paper 5. Identification of an appropriate journal 6. Editing according to a journal style sheet 7. Submission of the paper 8. Possible style or content alterations, proof-reading, publication The course is supported by the project CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0179 Diverzifikace a systematizace postgraduálního studia na FF UP Olomouc.

Learning outcomes
|
During four years of doctoral study programme, the postgraduate student works on his/her thesis. S/he is led and evaluated by his/her supervisor. S/he presents his/her partial outcomes at domestic and international conferences and s/he submits articles for publishing in scientific journals. After the 2nd and the 3rd year, s/he passes partial doctoral state exam. After that, s/he is eligible to take the final doctoral state exam.
Independent scientific work in the field of Slavonic linguistics: Czech, Polish, Russian and Ukrainian philology. Skills another capability - ability to define topic and methodology of a research paper - ability to plan a research paper - ability to edit a research paper - ability to communicate with a publisher of research papers

To receive required number of credits. Having successfully completed the courses - type A 1. Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Analysis of linguistic, Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio
Independent scientific work, regular tutorials with supervisor. Writing a paper under tutor supervision, selection of an appropriate journal, submission of the paper for a peer-review process, communication with the publisher.
