Course content
KSO/91APL Polish literary theory 1. On aspects of language and style of contemporary Polish prose in comparison with the Czech, Russian or Ukrainian prose. The latest theories (terminology) and the research methods ? evaluation. Choice according to specialization. 2. The contemporary Polish poetry works in Slavic (Czech, Russian or Ukrainian) context. Choice according to specialization. 3. The latest theories in the contemporary Polish literary science in comparison with the Czech, Russian or Ukrainian literary science. Choice according to specialization. 4. The latest theories in the contemporary Polish linguistics in comparison with the Czech, Russian or Ukrainian linguistics. Choice according to specialization. 8. Cognitive theories in the Polish literary science in comparison with the Czech, Ukrainian or Russian literary science. Choice according to specialization. 9. Genre development in the Polish literature of the 20th and 21st century in comparison with the literary work of the Czechs, Russians and Ukrainians. Choice according to specialization. 10. Literary text as translation issue (the Polish, Czech, Russian and Ukrainian translation theories). Choice according to specialization.

Learning outcomes
KSO/91APL Polish literary theory This course provides an overview of contemporary Polish literary theory, organization of literary researches, eminent representatives of literary theory, synthetic academic papers and monographs and contribution of Polish literary theory to the Slavonic literary theory.
This course puts focus on the Polish literary theory, the latest issues and the methodological approaches.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of literary theory at the level of pre-graduate (master) students of Polish philology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Seminar Work

Active attendance in semianrs, study of literary theory issues, representatives of Polish schools and departments. Exam questions - Comparative Slavonic philology. Courses: Comparative Slavonic literary theory, Comparative Slavonic linguistics. Themes of Polish philology: 1.
