1. Sworn translation - terminology 2. Sworn translation - legal aspects 3. Sworn translation - formal aspects, particulars of a sworn translation 4. Legislation in the EU countris, the Chamber of Court Appointed Interpreters and Translators, Union of Interpreters and Translators 5. Specialised literature, dictionaries (both printed and on-line) 6. Sworn translation - consecutive interpreting at courts, police office and prosecutor's office 7. Sworn translations - written translations: agreements, notarial deeds, etc. 6.-12. Practical samples (translation and interpretation of different text types and situations)

Learning outcomes
|
The objective of this course is to make the students familiar with the legal, technical and specific aspects of sworn translations with practical samples.
The student will become familiar with different aspects of sworn translations and interpretation and their formal and legal framework in the context of tradinions of the EU countries.

B2 level in Polish language.

Assessment methods and criteria
|

- participation in seminars with a maximum of 2 absences per semestre - fulfillment of all the assignments, translation - successful passing of final credit assignment (there are only three attempts for the final assignment); oral examination
