Learning outcomes
This course is for students with a very good language level. The lessons introduce a theoretical frame of the Polish translation terminology, linguistic methods of translation and the process of translation itself. Substancial attention is paid to the contrast between Czech and Polish from the point of view of translation and to learning practical skills for translation of legal, commercial or other texts. The objective of the course is the analysis of translation strategies and the student's own attempts to translate utility and specialized texts. The course prepares the students for the translation work.
In relation to the basic specialised language skills and competences, the student will learn further specialised competences, skills and abilities from the field of translation strategies and their analysis, which will be verified by their own attempts of translation of utility and specialised texts (commercial and legal).

Ability to work with specialized texts in Polish and in Czech. Very good knowledge of Polish and Czech.
