1. Polish experience of war in poetry and prose: Różewicz, Borowski, and Grudziński 2. Polish socialist realism: J. Andrzejewski's "Popiół i diament"; the art during the socialist realism era 3. The turn of 1956: A. Ważyk's "Poemat dla dorosłych", the so-called black series of the Polish film documentary; the Polish film school 4. The generation of "Współczesności" 5. The so-called delayed debuts: the poetry of Herbert and Białoszewski 6. The pre-war poets after the war: the poetics of Gałczyński and Broniewski 7. The stuntsmen of the Polish literature: Poświatowska, Stachura, Bursa, Wojaczek 8. The Polish expatriate literature: Bobkowski's "Szkice piórkiem" and Gombrowicz's "Ślub" 9. Historical novel in the Polish post-war literature: Parnicki and the village novel, W. Myśliwski 10. Learning outcomes
|
The objective of the visualised lecture is to make the students familiar with the most important trends in the cultural development after 1945. The lessons focuse of the reflection of basic features of the most prominent authors in the field of literature, music, art and film.
In relation to the basic specialised language knowledge and competences already acquired, the student will acquire more specialised knowledge and competences in literary science and history, namely factual knowledge of the era after 1945. The student will gradually improve their ability to understand the reported literary content.

Prerequisites

A good knowledge of the Polish language and basic knowledge of the Polish culture.

Assessment methods and criteria
|

To regularly attend the lectures (80 %, i.e. a maximum of 2 absences per semestre), fulfillment of all the partial tasks on an ongoing basis. Knowledge of all the texts from the compulsory reading list.
