Language culture and the terminological definition Language standard, use and system Linguistic innovations; errors (classification) Stylistic stratification of the Polish language Functional styles Speakers' attitudes towards language: from purism to laissez-faireism Trend in development of the current Polish language Basics of onommasiology; word formation means Loan words - from English and other languages; Enrichment of the lexicon. Language of media; case studies Linguistic manipulation; fashion in language Brutalization of the current Polish language; the process of colloquialization. Learning activities and teaching methods

Learning outcomes
The subject provides a comprehensive view of the contemporary Polish language from the points of view of the language standard dynamism, language of media and the stylistic stratification of contemporary Polish.
The student will become familiar with the latest trends in contemporary Polish language, will learn to work with particular texts and to analyze the language of the contemporary media and advertisement.
Prerequisites
B2 level in Polish lannguage.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

- Participation in lectures with a maximum absence of 2 lessons per semestre - Individual lecture of translatological literature (essays and articles) with an extension of about 20 pages - Successful passing of the colloquium
