Learning outcomes
|
The course introduces students to the most important periods and figures in Polish culture and literature from the Middle Ages to the present, as well as to the key issues and themes of each period. It develops students' ability to analyze and interpret literary texts and to situate them within various contexts, such as historical, political, and philosophical ones. Emphasis is placed primarily on forms of Polish literature; to a lesser extent, broader cultural contexts are considered, including visual culture, musical culture, and phenomena of popular culture.
A comprehensive overview of the development of Polish culture, including its most important periods and phenomena.
