Course content
|
The course is designed to help students systematically and effectively acquire spoken and written Polish. The exercises focus on developing students' ability to respond in Polish. Audio and video materials are also used in class. Individual lessons follow the structure of the textbook (see course literature). Topics: 1. School and education, the Polish education system, universities in Poland. 2. Home, apartment, housing. Household items. 3. Food, eating habits, national cuisine. 4. Shopping, stores, prices of goods, communication situations. 5. Travel, communication situations. 6. Weather, nature, climate. Nature conservation. 7. Health and illness, hospitals, doctors, communication situations. 8. Young people and culture. Conversations about music, film, and literature. 9. Holidays in Poland. The Polish calendar.

Learning outcomes
|
The objective of this course is to discuss on selected topics, continuous vocabulary enriching with respect to the contemporary variants of Polish and background information about Poland.
Standard communication skills, knowledge of Polish grammar and vocabulary - level B1.

Prerequisites
|
Knowledge of basic communication skills. Basic knowledge of Polish up to the A2 level.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Analysis of linguistic, Written exam
Good results in partial assessment tests, 80% attendance.
