Learning outcomes
The course addresses key questions to students in order to develop academic writing and reading skills in relation with migration process. Key concepts and general skills are introduced including micro and macro approaches. After a theoretical introduction the course focuses on a learning approach through selected readings and case studies on migrant's lives and ethnographies. Materials cover texts such as, narratives, biography, ethnography and academic papers. The course counts with a specific lecture a seminar on oral communication.
After successfully passing the course students should be able to comprehend and translate multidisciplinary processes of global and local migration. Students will adopt in their future research key concepts and specific academic skills related to the process of writing and reading migration. Selected readings provide students with a critical view to academic texts.
