Policy towards economic migration; temporary migration as a solution 6. Control of migration and family reunification 7. (Non)admission of asylum seekers 8. Mobility within the EU 9. Integration policy models, their instruments, impacts and recent developments (assimilation and discrimination) 10. Models of integration policies, their instruments, impacts and current developments (multiculturalism) 11. Current debate on migration and integration and misinformation 12. Current trends in integration policies

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with an insight into policies towards foreigners. Students will gain a basic overview of the mechanisms of control policies and policies towards foreigners residing within the state, using examples from different European countries and the European Union.
Upon completion of the course, students will know the evolution of migration policies and their instruments. They will be familiar with the reasons for the different approaches to integration in different European countries, as well as current trends and debates.
