Course content
|
In the seminar we strive for the students to improve their knowledge of the fields of practise in social andragogy which they are interested in in terms of their future professional orientation or interest. The enumeration of the topics is only an offer; during the semester the group can manage to discuss two or three topics in more details. According to actual options, the seminars also include discussions with colleagues from the field of practise or excursions into various facilities of social counselling or education. 1. Definition of the social counselling, history, social role and expectations, the relation towards education, the position in andragogy. 2. The role of professional counselling, historical development, current form. The relation towards other helping professions. 3. The personality of the social counsellor, the profession of the social counselling, ethics in this profession. 4. An individual and a family as users of social counselling. 5. Special target groups of social counselling, their typology, options and limits of the andragogy influence on them. 6. Foster care, institutional education, the following services for the young adults from foster care. 7. The elderly as users of social counselling, social services for the elderly, working with the family of the elderly. 8. People with health difficulties in social counselling - ambulant and terrain programs. 9. People with health difficulties in social counselling - residential care. 10. Homeless people as users of social counselling, social services. 11. Offenders, victims, and witnesses of the domestic violence as users of social counselling, social services. 12. Other socially excluded people od people endangered by social exclusion in the field of social counselling.

Learning outcomes
|
The goal of the discipline is to show the width and the variety of the field of practise of the professional in andragogy who works with socially weakened people. Social counselling is perceived as a possible profiling of andragogy influence in the life reality of (not only) adult person which contents a lot of educational elements. The content of the discipline is defined as the application of andragogy approach in a defined filed of practise.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Dialog, Final Report
Obligatory presence in the seminars at least 75%. Activity during seminars. Short text written as continual reflections of the content of the seminars (especially excursions).
