Course content
|
1. The term legislation and its terminology features This topic includes the definition of legislation as one of the basic normative systems, distinguishes law from other normative systems. Defines its terminology features by explaining the terms of normativity, regulations, and power. 2. Subject of law This topic shows the students the term of a physical and a legal person. When speaking of these persons we describe individual kinds of abilities - legal subjectivity, ability to act legally, and delinquency ability including process definitions of individual institutions. 3. Normative legislation systems This topic shows the continental and Anglo-American legal systems and the main differences between them. We discuss principles on which these systems are based, the sub-systems and typical legal sources, etc. 4. Typology of legislation This topic has a goal to show to students individual typologies of legislation, especially the objective and subjective law, legal dualism theory, defines individual legal branches and their characteristic features. 5. Legal norm, legal regulation, legal order This topic discuss basic law theory terminology, defines the term of legal norm and its terminology features, parts and individual competencies. Defines the term of legal regulative, names the basic types of them, and defines the term of legal order. 6. Legal relationships This topic includes the term of legal relationship, defines its parts in the form of subjects, object, and content; names individual types of legal relationships and their importance. 7. Sources of law and their classification This topic defines the terms of material and forma source of legislation and thy system of legal sources, hierarchy of sources and individual sources publication. 8. Term of the legal responsibility, conditions of its development This topic shows to students the term of responsibility, term legal responsibility; defines public-law and private-law responsibility, defines conditions to develop legal responsibility and individual types of legal responsibility. 9. Term and system of constitutional law This topic defines the subject of legislation of constitutional law; it specifically deals with the constitutional order of the CR and with individual constitutional acts and their importance; the issue of international contracts; basic human rights and liberties. 10. Term and system of civil law, main features This topic´s target is to show to students the definitions of the term and subject of civil law, main principles of this legal branch; sources of civil law; the term of civil-law events; theory of material and obligatory rights and hereditary right. 11. Term and system of criminal law, main features This topic´s target is to show to students the definition of the term and the subject of criminal law, basic principles of this law branches; the sources of criminal law, the term of criminal law responsibility, the term of criminal act and its terminology features. 12. Term and system of family law, main features This topic´s target is to show to students the definition of the term and subject of family law, basic principles of this legal branch, sources of family law, the term of family-law relationship.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the subject "Introduction to the Law" is to gain basic knowledge of the Theory of Law. The student should be able to understand and use basic legal terminology. The knowledge of the Theory of Law is the basis for subsequent legal subjects. The student will understand main legal terms and legal institutes and will be able to use these terms and institutes in both public and private branches of law, such as Constitutional, Criminal, Civil and Family law.
student knows basic terminology and institutions of the theory of law student has learnt about individual legal branches student distinguishes the public law from the private law student names individual legal branches and their key attributes student can use gained theoretical knowledge in model examples, especially in the area of civil law, criminal law and family law student uses theoretical knowledge in particular legal cases, interprets properly individual legal norms student can assess some of the client´s demands in the sphere of civil and family law student has learnt about the legislation, and is able to find individual legal institutions in the right legal branches
