Course content
1. Basis of criminal responsibility Term, subject, function, and sources of material criminal law, competence of the criminal code, term and signs of a criminal act, typology of criminal acts according to various points of view, criminal-law relationship. 2. Principles of material criminal law The principle of nullum crimen (nulla poena) sine lege, the principle of subsidiarity of criminal repression, the principle of humanism, the principle of collective and individual responsibility, the principle of the responsibility for a blame and the principle of accountability. 3. Conditions of criminal responsibility Signs of the act´s substance, object, objective, side, subject (perpetrator), subjective side, illegality, age and sanity, cognitive and moral maturity, conditions that avoid illegality, development stages of a criminal act, criminal cooperation. 4. Criminal responsibility and sanctioning of the young Specific features of criminal responsibility and criminal punishment for young offenders, reasons for specific approach to young offenders, legislation, acts otherwise criminal of children younger than 15 years. 5. Sanctioning Punishments, purpose of a punishment, impose and extend of a punishment, mitigating conditions, kinds of punishments with the emphasis on alternative punishment, protective provisions, kinds of protective provisions and their impose. 6. Criminal acts against life and health Murder, killing, murder of a new-born infant by the mother, killing with carelessness, attendance on a suicide, hurting, serious hurting, hurting with an excusable reason, hurting with carelessness, serious hurting with carelessness. 7. Criminal acts against freedom and human dignity Personal freedom relieving, personal freedom limiting, robbery, taking hostage, blackmailing, pressure, house freedom disturbing, slander, rape, sexual enforcement, sexual abuse, sexual intercourse between relatives, procure. Criminal acts against family and children Obligatory care neglecting, maltreatment of a person living in a common household. 8. Criminal acts against property Theft, bribery, illegal use of somebody else´s property, fraud, insurance fraud, credit fraud, dotation fraud, provision of dishonest games and bats, legalization of the outcomes from illegal activities, cooperation with a carelessness, usury, hiding a thing, damaging somebody else´s property. 9. Process criminal law Term, subject and purpose of process criminal law; term, subject and tasks of the criminal process; sources of process criminal law, relationship of process criminal law and material criminal law, criminal-procedural relationship. 10. Basic principles of criminal procedure Term in importance of the basic principles of criminal procedure, the principle of prosecuting only due to legal reasons, p. of presumption of innocence, p. of going official, of legality, of speed, of appropriateness, of material truth, of looking up, of free evaluating of evidence, of publicity, of oral and direct dealing, of the right for advocacy, principles of the procedures with the young. 11. Subjects of criminal procedure Term and position of the participants in the criminal procedure, sides of the jury procedure, court, accused, advocate, state attorney, police, probation and meditation service, offended, participating person. 12. Process of criminal procedure Individual stages of criminal procedure; term, purpose and forms of pre-procedure process; pre-procedure consulting of accusation, main procedure, process with ordinary and extraordinary provisions, specific kinds of procedures, specific features of the procedure with the young.

Learning outcomes
The subject provides students with the general knowledge and interpretation of concepts from criminal law. In the general part, these are particularly - elements of a criminal offence, body of a crime, incapacity, circumstances excluding illegality, developmental stages (phases) of a criminal activity, criminal complicity, concurrency of criminal offences, penalties, protective mesures, criminal liability of the juveniles. Concerning the special part, the attention is focused to comprehension of the particular types of criminal offences, namely criminal acts against the life and health, criminal acts against freedom and human dignity and criminal acts against property. Selected chapters of the czech criminal order provide with the complete picture of basic principles, subjects and course of criminal procedure.
Student understands the essence and principles of the Czech criminal law. Student can define basic institutions of the material criminal law. Student can characterize basic types of criminal acts. Student can work on one´s own with the Czech Criminal Code and Criminal Order. Student is able to solve individual cases from criminal practice.

Oral exam

The exam - a written test out of selected topics.
