Course content
1. Introduction of social work as a science, field of practice and study programme. Social work ethics. 2. History of social work 3. Psychoanalysis 4. Social work of Mary Richmond, diagnostic school of social work. 5. Psychosocial Social Work 6. Functional Social Work 7. Cognitive-behavioural methods in social work. 8. Humanistic trends in social work. 9. Systemic approach in social work. 10. Integrated, eclectic and synthetic approaches in social work 11. Individual social work, its phases and process. 12. Course end, evaluation.

Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
The course introduces the students into the past and the present of social work a s a science and as a field of practical activity. The main theories and methods of social work are presented - their characteristics, contributions and criticisms, possible use under particular conditions. Then the attention is shifted to the contemporary development of social work .

Written exam

Attendance at the course is compulsory, absences of max. 3 meetings are allowed. The exam has a written test form.
