Learning outcomes
The course develops the theoretical and methodological skills necessary for successful implementation of empirical research in the field of sociology of religion. During the course students will learn about various theoretical background and already realized sociological research. The whole process of research preparation, realization and evaluation will be presented on concrete examples of research conducted within the Czech sociology of religion. Students will acquire the ability to use existing theories in the preparation and implementation of a particular empirical survey. During the seminars, students will demonstrate the ability to process existing quantitative and qualitative data (to perform their secondary analysis) and the ability to create data. They will acquire and demonstrate the ability to critically analyze already performed research and interpret their results.
At the end of the course students should be able to independently design their own mixed research in sociology of religion. They will elaborate this research proposal in a seminar paper and present it during the final exam.
