The course introduces students in the fundamental issues of social deviations. The curriculum contains the theoretical definition of relevant terms as well as descriptions and explanations of selected examples of social deviant behaviour. The issue of social deviations will be examined with regard to the experience and behaviour of an individual breaking the given social norm of behaviour as well as with regard to the environment where the social norm is formed, applied and where compliance with it is controlled.
Student knows basic types of deviant behaviour, can characterize them. Student describes potential offender, a bearer socially deviant behaviour. Student names the basic signs, direct and indirect symptoms of the social deviance consequences. Student knows the basic tools of prevention and solution of the issues with socially pathological events. Student can distinguish individual types of socially deviant behaviour in model situations, and identify its direct and indirect symptoms. Student identifies and assesses critical the risks connected with socially pathological events or behaviour in relation to the bearer, the close people and society as a whole. Student can suggest a frame plan of prevention or following solution of a socially pathological event in a model example. Student can create an individual plan of help to a person who is endangered by socially deviant behaviour; the plan is based on critical assessment of actual situation of a client, level of the negative event and actual context.
